The cover stitch
Decorative seams with a cover stitch machine are usually sewn inside out, so the looper thread creates the decorative effect. With the cover stitch on the BROTHER CV 3550, the resulting seam is immediately visible on the right side of the fabric. Additionally, the looper stitch on the wrong side creates an additional decorative effect, and all raw fabric edges are neatly bound. The thread take-up lever for the top cover stitch is quick and easy to install, and the cover stitch thread is easy to thread. Decorative or heavier threads can also be used, as this thread doesn't need to be threaded through an eyelet. With the cover stitch, the Brother CV 3550 can chain out the end of the seam like an overlock.
The structure
The large opening and free arm allow for flexibility in the sewing sequence. The work surface is illuminated by LEDs, and all adjustment controls are located at the top or right. No more reaching for the presser foot lever.
The settings
The thread tension on the Brother CV 3550 is preset, so only minor adjustments are necessary. The presser foot pressure screw is scaled, and there's an additional lever in the flap for fine adjustment of the hook.
Accesories
With thread nets, foam pads, and spool caps, the Brother CV 3550 can safely handle almost any type of thread spool. The transparent foot is included.
